Process description

  1. Service requests
    For granting the status of a guest family, spouses or a person shall submit to the Orphan's Court a submission with a motivated request to grant the status of the guest family.

    The Orphan's Court shall evaluate the suitability of the possible guest family for obtaining the status of the guest family, including:
    1) evaluate the motivation of a spouse or person to become a guest family, mutual relations in the family and the ability to care for a child;
    2) examine and evaluate the household and material conditions of the spouse or person;
    3) request an opinion of a family doctor regarding the health status of a spouse or person;
    4) send a spouse or person to a psychologist in order to receive an opinion regarding the suitability for obtaining the status of the guest family;
    5) request information regarding the information regarding the spouses or a person included in the register of penalties.

  2. Receipt of services
    The Orphan's Court shall take a decision regarding the granting of the status of the guest family to a spouse or person.

    An Orphan's court shall decide on the termination of the status of the guest family, if the family refuses to perform the duties of the guest family, or regarding the subtraction of the status of the guest family, if the Orphan's court determines that the guest family does not perform the duties of the guest family in accordance with the interests of the children.

    The decision of the Orphan's Court may be received in person, by post or by electronic means within 10 working days after the taking of the decision.
