The service is entitled to receive a place of residence declared in Valka by persons who, due to age or physical impairment, cannot perform daily housework and their personal care, who do not have survivors or are unable to provide the necessary assistance due to employment or other objective conditions, as well as disabled children or adult persons with mental or physical disabilities, if family members are unable to provide them with care due to objective circumstances.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    Receipt of services documents required:
    Application.
    A statement by the family doctor on the state of health of the client and an opinion on the need for care. The statement shall indicate the absence of medical contraindications.

    A psychiatrist's opinion regarding the absence of special (psychological) contraindications and the most appropriate type of service for a client with mental disabilities, if a person with mental disabilities wants to receive care.

    Documents certifying that the survivors are unable to provide the necessary care for reasons of age, condition of health or other objective circumstances;

    Assessment card (protocol) and criteria for evaluating physical and mental capabilities and determining the level of care for a client with disabilities.

    If necessary, the social worker visits the client at the place of residence and helps to draw up the necessary documents.

  2. Receipt of services
    In the case of ongoing care, an agreement on the receipt of the service shall be concluded for a period of one year. After the end of the specified period of care, the customer may, as necessary, re-request care in accordance with the procedures specified in the Regulations. Care is not done in day-to-day mode.
