Service requests
Service request channels:
1. Face-to-face - To be visited by the family register department;
2. E-mail - Application for entering into a marriage with a secure electronic signature and time stamp.
Receipt of services documents required:
1. application;
2. a personal identification document;
3. persons who have previously been in another marriage must present a certificate of death of the former spouse or a divorce certificate, an extract or a statement from the entry of the divorce act, a judgment of a court in force in which the marriage was divorced or invalidated, an extract or a statement from the marriage register marking such a judgment;
4. if the person who wishes to enter the marriage is a written authorisation of the minor - the parents or guardians of the minor, or the Orphan's Court;
5. a document issued by the competent authority of the relevant State regarding the fact that the person does not have obstacles to entering into a marriage in the Republic of Latvia - the document must be legalised and translated in the official language of Latvia in accordance with the procedures specified.Receipt of services
The reconciliation of persons shall take place within a period of not more than one month and not later than within six months, counting from the date on which the marriage application is submitted. The electronic application has been submitted after its inspection and acceptance in the correspondence section, which is notified to the notifiers.
Charges related to receiving the service:
State fee for marriage registration - EUR 14.00
According to the decision of the Valka municipality council of 27.11.2014, Protocol No 16, § 2, Charge for the ceremonial ceremony for entering the marriage – EUR 45.00, Charge for the marriage ceremony, if the two newlyweds are pensioners – EUR 6.00, fee for the marriage ceremony at another appropriate place of EUR 120.00.
The State fee shall be released or shall not be charged in accordance with the provisions of Regulation No 906 on the State fee for the registration of civil status acts of the BOM 24.09.2013.
